Keren D’Vaja's artwork is inspired by her imaginings. Her paintings awaken deep emotions from the simplest aspects of life, which manifest, through a streamlined, lucid filter that refines the chaos of dreams and lure of supposition, into pure images.
Keren’s paintings have been described as flowing, whimsical, optimistic and romantic. They often feature pairings, as well as vivid colour contrasts that evoke a calm, appealing latitude. With a background in Physics, her work tends to rely on focused introspection, followed by an impetuous drive that takes her to surprising places. She is influenced by her shared Polish and Iraqi heritage. The myths of the Fertile Crescent beat a steady presence in her body of work: the Garden of Eden and Antediluvian innocence.
