Giclée Prints
| Giclée:(jhee-clay) A collectable fine art print that is digitally reproduced to render the best possible and longest lasting quality. So named from the French word gicleur (nozzle) because of the way ink is sprayed during print production. Giclée is a new print form that originated in 1991 when digital ink jet processors began to produce very high quality prints that far exceed older lithography methods. The giclée print medium is used by artists who wish to distinguish their work from non-art or commercial prints. With giclée prints on view worldwide in the most prestigious art houses, this publishing medium is catching on thanks to its flexibility, consistency and durability. | |

To render a giclée, archival-quality ink is directed onto paper or canvas
by spray, mirroring the original artwork more precisely than any previous
reproduction technique. The digital printer is modified to conform to the
exacting specs of the artist, who controls the print medium like never before,
achieving tremendous detail and depth of colour, and creating limited edition
prints that can be sized up or down without losing resolution.
